They are chordates. Though more people have dogs, they are one of the most owned pets in the United States.
The domestic catEdit
The domestic cat is a small, usually furry, domesticated, and carnivorous mammal. It is often called the housecat when kept as an indoor pet, or simply the cat when there is no need to distinguish it from other felids and felines. They are not very dangerous when they are domesticated, though cats in the jungle are very dangerous sometimes, for instance, lions tigers cheetahs and leopards.
